The Maxi Scientific MAXI-S25GF100A is a 25 mm Glass Fiber (GF) syringe filter with a 1.0 µm pore size — engineered for aqueous sample filtration, chromatography sample prep, and general particulate removal. It is a direct drop-in replacement for the Waters Acrodisc WAT200818, delivering identical performance at a fraction of the cost.

What is the difference between glass fiber and PTFE or nylon syringe filters?
Glass fiber filters are best suited for aqueous samples with high particulate loads. They offer excellent flow rates and dirt-holding capacity, making them ideal for use as prefilters. PTFE is preferred for aggressive solvents, and nylon works well across a broad range of aqueous and mild solvent applications.
Can this filter be used as a prefilter?
Yes. The 1.0µm pore size makes the MAXI-S25GF100A an excellent prefilter when used in series ahead of a 0.2 or 0.45µm membrane filter, significantly extending membrane life when filtering dirty or viscous samples.
What syringe sizes are compatible?
The female Luer Lock inlet is compatible with virtually all standard syringes. For best results, use with syringes between 5mL and 60mL for aqueous samples up to 100mL.
